The applicant challenged the granting of a exploration license used to search for Coal Seam Gas. Ultimately, the granting of the license was upheld by the Court. Climate Change was not directly addressed in the analysis provided for upholding the license. However, an extensive investigation of the Precautionary Principle, and its use in relation to ground water and possible contamination can provide useful analysis for climate change based issues.
