SUMMARY

The proceedings consisted of objections to the granting of a permit for development, by the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council. Among the questions cited in the objection was the potential for the project to suffer coastal vulnerability, ie, inundation and flooding. The Tribunal acknowledged the increased importance that considerations of coastal vulnerability play in the granting of development licenses, and the cautious approach that extends from this. However, relying on expert advice, he was satisfied that there were no unreasonable flooding aspects to the proposal.
