SUMMARY

“In August 2021, All Aboard Aotearoa filed for a judicial review of the Auckland Regional Land Transport Plan. Auckland Transport and Auckland Council approved the Regional Land Transport Plan (RLTP) in 2021. However, the plan allowed for a 6% increase in emissions over the coming decade where Te Tāruke-ā-Tāwhiri: Auckland's Climate Plan calls for a 64% decrease in emissions by 2030. All Aboard Aotearoa is challenging the decision and believes the plan needs to be re-visited in order to substantially reduce CO2 emissions from transport.” On 9 July 2022, the Court dismissed AAA's challenges.
