SUMMARY

The Conservation Council of South Australia has submitted a complaint to ASIC and the ACCC asking them to investigate whether carbon neutral claims by NeuRizer are misleading or deceptive under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) (Corporations Act) and/or Australian Consumer Law (ACL). They argue that representations on NeuRizer's website and in its Climate Related Financial Disclosure Report imply that the NeuRizer’s products are: “(i) carbon neutral; (ii) produced in a way that reduces emissions; (iii) safe and environmentally responsible to produce; and (iv) that the technologies it relies on to become carbon neutral are rigorous and reliable”.
