SUMMARY

A class action against Toyota was launched in the Supreme Court of Victoria in October 2022 on behalf of anyone who acquired cars such as the Landcruiser and Hilux on or after 7 February 2016. The class action alleges that these cars were fitted with diesel defeat devices. These devices tamper with the vehicle’s emissions control system to enhance the car’s performance.
