SUMMARY

Victorian Forest Alliance has lodged a complaint with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission for potentially misleading and deceptive conduct by VicForests. Represented by Environmental Justice Australia, VFA have asked the ACCC to investigate statements on VicForests' website that logging of forests is ‘sustainable’. The ACCC has also been asked to investigate inaccurate claims about the impacts of logging on carbon stores, as well as claims that VicForests has conducted adequate surveys for threatened and endangered species prior to logging.
